Requesting an appointment

You can request an appointment with a doctor or other healthcare professional online (Monday to Friday).

We will respond to requests within 2 days during opening times.

You can also:

  • phone us on 01384 77194
  • visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use your answers to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or healthcare professional to help you.

Urgent appointments

If you require an urgent appointment, please call the practice on 01384 77194 from 8am.

All urgent appointment requests will be reviewed and assessed by a GP at the surgery who call you back.

Routine appointments

You can request a routine appointment with a nurse or healthcare assistant up to 2 weeks in advance.

We will respond to requests within 4 hours during opening times.

You can also:

  • phone us on 01384 77194 between 8am and 6.30pm via option 2
  • visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist
  • use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) or Patient Access to book an appointment, screening test or vaccination

Get medical advice from a doctor or nurse

To ask a non-urgent medical question:

We will respond within 2 working days during opening times.

Extended hours pre-bookable appointments

We have a limited number of pre-bookable appointments available each week for both Nurses and Doctors.

  • Thursdays from 6.30pm to 8.00pm
  • Fridays from 6.30pm to 8.00pm
  • Saturday mornings 8.30am to 12.30pm

These can only be booked via reception but occur at other surgeries locally.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

We require at least 48 hours prior notice if you wish to cancel your appointment, except in exceptional circumstances. This will enable us to offer that appointment to another patient.

To cancel your appointment:

If you cancel more than one appointment wewill be unable to offer further appointments without the consent of the referring GP.

Patients who do not notify us and fail to keep their appointment will be written to by the practice manager. If the patient fails to attend three appointments, they may be removed from the practice list. This is in line with the practice policy.

Appointment reminder service

The practice will remind you of any face to face appointments via text message.

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Extended Access

In the Dudley and Netherton area practices are working in partnership to provide additional GP appointments.

If you need access to an evening or weekend non-urgent appointment, please call the practice on 01384 77194 and speak to the receptionist at your registered practice during normal opening hours.

Your appointment may be with another practice in the Dudley and Netherton area and may not be at your registered practice.

In the Dudley and Netherton area, the following practices are working in partnership to provide additional GP appointments:

Home visits

If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need.

To request a home visit, it’s helpful if you phone the surgery as early as possible.

 It may be more appropriate if the visit is delivered by an external agency.
